Chamber of Commerce

The Scugog Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary, not-for-profit association made up of businesses and professionals in the Township of Scugog. Chamber members support our community with goals to make Scugog a better place to work and live. The Chamber of Commerce is funded by local business members and is managed by volunteers.

Mission Statement

The mission of Scugog Chamber is to provide our industrial, technology, agriculture, tourism, commercial and service business members with valuable business resources, pertinent information and excellent networking opportunities. We are committed to being a strong voice for business. 

Goals

The main goals of the Scugog Chamber of Commerce are to:

• Promote business in the Scugog area and enrich the community
• Encourage and promote tourism
• Strengthen the organization through increasing membership and resource base
• Serve as the voice of business in our community at various levels of government
• Enhance the image of the Chamber by providing activities of interest to members

Plans and support

An important task of the Scugog Chamber of Commerce is to encourage plans and policies that will enhance positive growth of the all businesses within the community. The Chamber is also a key representative on the following committees:

• Scugog Economic Development Advisory Committee
• Tourist Association of Durham Region
• Joint Chambers of Commerce

The Chamber also liaises with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, the Region of Durham and the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation.
