$11,000 raised for the Scugog Shores Museum Village through 55th annual Canoe the Nonquon

On Saturday, June 7, 2025, the Scugog Shores Museum hosted the 55th annual Canoe the Nonquon event.

Participants of all ages and abilities paddled the course of the twisty Nonquon River. A total of 163 participants in 105 vessels joined the race this year.

This annual event is a fundraiser for the Scugog Shores Museum Village and through sponsorships, donations, merchandise sales and pledges, the event raised $11,000 for the Scugog Shores Museum Village. Thank you to the Scugog community for supporting this event!

The race wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of staff, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners. We would like to thank our sponsors Durham Tourism, Brock’s Department Store, Vos Independent, and Tudor Pines Bed and Breakfast, as well as our many community partners Scugog Kayak Club, Two Blokes Cider, the Port Perry Marina, Scugog Fire Department, Port Perry Lions Club, PPPrint, the North Shore Amateur Radio Club, Ontario Marathon Canoe and Kayak Racing Association, and Signworks. We also want to thank the volunteers and staff that assisted at various checkpoint locations and headquarters to ensure all aspects of the event ran smoothly.
