Heat Warning in Effect - July 11 to July 16

Please be advised a heat warning is in effect July 11, and is expected to last until July 16. Daytime highs are expected to reach 29 to 32 degrees, with humidex values of 40 degrees and overnight lows of 19 to 23 degrees. During this time, it is important to monitor yourself and others and watch for signs of heat illness.

These high temperatures and humidity can also affect air quality. Please keep this in mind when outside and utilize the various cooling stations within the town:

  • Scugog Memorial Public Library: Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
    • This facility has a bottle-fill station.
  • Birdseye Pool: Visit our Swimming page to view a full schedule.
    • Operating hours have been extended to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12
  • Splash Pad: open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
