Council Highlights - March 24, 2025

Township of Scugog Council held a public Council Meeting last week, March 24. The meeting covered a variety of topics, please see the highlights below:

• Animal Shelter – The Townships of Uxbridge and Scugog announce they are moving forward to the next phase for the new animal shelter, including the development of construction drawings to meet building permit requirements and finalizing the project cost.
• Lakefront Farmers Market opening May 2025 – Farmers market welcomed 30K people last year
• Additional Dwelling Unit policies approved for Scugog in compliance with provincial requirements
• Reduced insurance requirements for taxicab owners from $5 million to $2 million in line with neighbouring municipalities
• Councillor Rock has been appointed to the Scugog Memorial Library Board
