Heat Warning in Effect - July 15, 2024

Please be advised a heat warning is in effect today, July 15, with the possibility of continuing to July 16. Temperatures are expected to reach near 29 degrees with humidex near 40. Overnight temperatures are expected to be near 20 degrees. During this time, it is important to monitor yourself and others and watch for signs of heat illness.

These high temperatures and humidity can also affect air quality. Please keep this in mind when outside and utilize the various cooling stations within the town:

• Scugog Community Recreation Centre: 8:30am to 7pm
• Scugog Memorial Public Library: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10am to 6pm; Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 9pm; Saturday 10am to 5pm; Sunday 1pm to 5pm
• Birdseye Pool: Monday to Friday 8am to 7:30pm; Saturday and Sunday 10:30am to 7pm (check schedule to see when public programs are running)
• Splash Pad: 9am to 8pm

Stay safe, monitor yourself and your environment, drink lots of water, and take advantage of these cooling stations when needed.
