Township of Scugog Lakefront Skate and Market Grand Opening

Township of Scugog, ON, Friday, December 15 – On Saturday, December 16, 2023, Township of Scugog Mayor Wilma Wotten, and honourable guests will officially open the Scugog Lakefront Skate and Market.

In attendance will be Mayor Wilma Wotten and members of Scugog Council, The Honourable Todd McCarthy, Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery of Ontario, MPP Durham, Durham Regional Chair John Henry and Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation Councillor Jeff Forbes as well the public are invited to attend. The emcee will be Angela S from North Durham Radio 105.5. Welcome greetings will be delivered followed by a ribbon cutting.

Background:

• This winter season, Scugog will introduce a new outdoor, on-land skating rink thanks to generous funding from the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario)
• Located in the Joe Fowler north ball diamond, the new outdoor rink and vendor village will provide a unique and extended pleasure skating experience with food and artisan market right in the heart of downtown Port Perry.
